What is PQQ?
Pyrroloquinoline Quinone is also known as PQQ. PQQ occurs naturally in soil and is also produced by soil bacteria. Plants absorb it, and we get it by eating plants. In addition, some bacteria in fermented foods and beverages produce PQQ.
PQQ is a new coenzyme of oxidoreductase, which has unique physicochemical properties and plays an important role in physiological functions. It is a water-soluble vitamin-like compound that occurs naturally in soil, breast milk, and certain foods such as soybeans, green tea, carrots, oranges, tomatoes, dark chocolate, and kiwi. Animal studies have shown that a lack of PQQ can stunt growth, impair immunity, and cause reproductive and metabolic problems.
Scientifically speaking, PQQ appears to work in the body through at least three different physiological pathways:
◆ Boosts production of PGC-1a (Hope Molecule);
◆ Activates the expression of SIRT3 (longevity gene);
◆ Increase the number of mitochondria and optimize mitochondrial function;
