Product Description
Fatty acids are divided into short chain, medium chain and long chain according to the length of the carbon chain. Generally, fatty acids containing 8 to 12 carbon atoms forming a carbon chain are called medium chain fatty acids (MCFA), which are esterified by glycerol to form medium chain fatty acids. Fatty acid triglycerides (or medium chain triglycerides, MCTs). Typical MCTs refer to saturated caprylic triglycerides or saturated capric triglycerides or saturated caprylic-capric mixed triglycerides.
Medium-chain triglycerides are composed of saturated fatty acids only, have a low freezing point, are liquid at room temperature, and have low viscosity. Compared with soybean oil, it is completely odorless, colorless and transparent liquid. Compared with ordinary oils and hydrogenated oils, the content of unsaturated fatty acids in medium-chain triglycerides is extremely low, the oxidation stability is very good, and its iodine value does not exceed 0.5. MCTs are particularly stable at high and low temperatures.

Product Function
1. In the food additive industry, medium chain triglycerides can be used as solvents and carriers for food flavors and pigments;
2. In bakery food processing, medium chain triglycerides are often paired with cheap vegetable oils as anti-sticking agents to prevent baked goods from sticking to pans or molds;
3. Pure medium-chain triglycerides or mixed oils with vegetable oils are also commonly used as lubricants and release agents for sausage molding;
4. Medium-chain triglycerides can also be used to process various fat-soluble vitamins, pigments and antioxidants. When a small amount of medium-chain triglycerides is added, the viscosity of high-viscosity fatty substances will be greatly reduced;
5. In the food processing industry, medium-chain triglycerides are also used to replace easily oxidized milk fat to make milk liqueurs and cheese imitations;
6. If used in combination with water-soluble colloids, medium-chain triglycerides can also be used as turbidity agents for beverages.
In addition, medium chain triglycerides can also replace mineral oil as lubricating oil for food processing machinery.
