Kava Extract

1. Lactones The main active ingredients in white pepper are fat-soluble resins, most of which are α-pyrhaone-derived organisms, that is, kavalactone; Methoxycapsaicin is Yang Gao Ning, Dihydroanesthetic Capsaicin, Demethoxy Yang Gao Ning, 5,6-Dehydroanesthesia Capsaicin, 11-Methoxy-normethoxypiperin wait. There are also p-methoxycarbaine dimer and demethoxygaonin dimer.
2. Alkaloids and amides The pyrrolidine alkaloids 1-Cinnamoylpyrrolidinel-(m-methoxy-cinnamoyl)-pyrrolidine, etc. are isolated from Kava pepper. The leaves mainly contain anesthetic capsaicin (supposed), and a small amount of roots and rhizomes , and the structure is unstable. It also contains a variety of trace amides.

1. Nervous system function
(1) Anti-anxiety effect: Kavalactone can improve the attention, memory and responsiveness of patients with anxiety disorders, and make patients in a relaxed state, but its effect is slow. Jena University in Germany conducted a controlled experiment on 101 outpatients suffering from anxiety and obsessive-compulsive neurosis. The patients were given 100mg/day kava extract and placebo respectively. After 8 weeks, the patients in the kava group had a significant effect.
(2) Sedative and hypnotic effects: intravenous or oral administration of dihydrocapsaicin or dihydroanesthetic capsaicin has sedative and hypnotic effects on mice, rats, rabbits and cats, and high doses can cause ataxia and Normal reflexes are absent. It is currently believed that kavapyrone may act through the GABA receptor binding site.
(3) Local anesthetic effect: Kava extract can cause muscle paralysis, has local anesthetic effect on experimental frogs, and paralyzes the wings of bats and sparrows. The mechanism of action is similar to that of lidocaine, acting through negative potential-dependent sodium channels.
2. Antifungal effect

Kava piperone has no inhibitory effect on the growth of Gram-positive or negative bacteria, and some kavapyrones have significant inhibitory effect on many fungi, including some human pathogenic bacteria.
3. Muscle relaxant effect

All kinds of chironones have muscle relaxant effect on all kinds of experimental animals, and they are more effective than Mephenesin in protecting children against the convulsive and lethal effects of tenning.
4. Kava extract also has diuretic and antithrombotic effects.
