What is Benfotiamine Powder?
It is a fat-soluble analog of vitamin B1, has a higher absorption rate and bioavailability than vitamin B1, and is often used as a food supplement for diabetic complications. Benfotiamine has a direct anti-oxidant ability to prevent DNA damage.
Benfotiamine is vitamin B1 fat soluble derivatives, improve the bioavailability of water-soluble vitamin B1 low shortcomings, improve the blood and tissue concentrations of thiamine, so as to improve the curative effect.
Benfotiamine is primarily marketed as an antioxidant dietary supplement. In a clinical study with six patients, benfotiamine lowered AGE by 40%.

Product Function
1. Diabetic neuropathy
Benfotiamine treatment appears to be a potential strategy for preventing diabetic nephropathy, a serious complication of diabetes that is associated with a higher risk of heart disease and mortality. High glucose concentrations lead to the accumulation of triose phosphate; this leads to biochemical dysfunction and eventual development of diabetic nephropathy.
Preclinical studies in rats show that benfotiamine prevents the accumulation of triose phosphate in diabetes, thereby inhibiting the development of kidney disease.
2. Cognitive improvement in Alzheimer's disease
Preclinical studies suggest that benfotiamine has beneficial effects on cognitive impairment in Alzheimer's disease. Benfotiamine has been shown to reduce amyloid deposits in animal models of Alzheimer's disease. However, these effects have not been demonstrated in humans. A phase II clinical trial is currently evaluating whether benfotiamine can prevent cognitive decline in people with mild cognitive impairment.
3. Overcome alcohol dependence
Chronic alcohol intake is associated with severe deficiencies of important nutrients and vitamins. Alcoholism-related thiamine deficiency is characterized by a neurological syndrome due to progressive loss of central and peripheral white matter. Although thiamine replacement is important in patients with alcohol-induced CNS injury, benfotiamine has not been shown to be effective in peripherally entering the CNS.
4. Benfotiamine for smoking
Smoking causes endothelial dysfunction, an early event in cardiovascular disease. Oxidative stress and inflammation can exacerbate this. In preclinical studies in rats, benfotiamine was found to prevent nicotine-induced vascular dysfunction. A trial in healthy volunteers showed that short-term treatment with benfotiamine partially restored macrovascular function in healthy smokers.
5. Kidney Protection
Data from rat studies suggest that benfotiamine has a protective effect on the peritoneum and residual kidney during peritoneal dialysis and uremia. According to a study published in the Journal of the American Academy of Nephrology, adding benfotiamine to the diet resulted in increased transketolase activity and decreased expression of advanced glycation end products and their receptors.
A study by Ustuner et al. Research published in Tissue and Cell found that benfotiamine supplementation may help reduce antibiotic-induced nephrotoxicity by improving oxidative stress and inflammation in renal tubular cells.
6. Anti-tumor potential
In vitro studies suggest that benfotiamine may block leukemia through a mechanism called apoptosis. Paposis is a type of programmed cell death involving the formation of cytoplasmic vacuoles. A cell culture study by researchers at Kanazawa University in Japan found that benfotiamine is a promising drug for patients with acute myeloid leukemia who are not eligible for standard chemotherapy. They also observed that benfotiamine worked synergistically with the chemotherapy drug cytarabine to eliminate myeloid leukemia cells.
7. Antioxidant properties
Benfotiamine is also a potent antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes.
Application Field Benfotiamine powder
1. Benfotiamine is used for the prevention and treatment of vitamin B1 deficiency;
2. For vitamin B1 demand increase, with inadequate intake from foods supplies (fatigue, hyperthyroidism, pregnancy, lactation, during strenuous manual labor, etc.);
3. Benfotiamine is used in the treatment of non-alcoholic wernicke encephalopathy;
4. To treat beriberi;
5. Used in the following diseases, speculation and vitamin B1 deficiency and metabolic disorders associated with treatment, such as: neuralgia; Muscle pain, joint pain; Peripheral neuritis, peripheral nerve palsy; Myocardial metabolic disorders; Constipation and other gastrointestinal motor function obstacle
6. For the adjuvant treatment of Alzheimer's
7. Effects of nicotine therapy on vascular dysfunction in smokers
8. Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory
