Product Description

Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra L., Fabaceae) is a perennial plant known for its sweet roots. It contains a variety of bioactive natural products. Glycyrrhizin, the sweet component of licorice root, is a triterpenoid saponin with antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antitumor and antibacterial properties. In addition to glycyrrhizin, phenolic constituents such as chalcone isoliquiritigenin and isoflavone glabridin are also important for the observed bioactivity of licorice root.

Product Function

1. Licorice is traditionally used to promote wound healing. Licorice root extract protects skin from oxidative stress damage, accelerates wound epithelization, improves wound site remodeling, and effectively relieves symptoms of atopic dermatitis (AD).

2. In addition, isoliquiritigenin was also found to be beneficial in the treatment of AD-like skin lesions in mice, which is expected to be a potential therapeutic agent for the treatment of AD in humans.

3. Glycyrrhizin has many potentially beneficial properties in cosmeceutical products. It acts as an antioxidant, estrogen, anti-inflammatory and whitening agent. It shows skin depigmentation activity and is incorporated into topical products specifically for this purpose
